John Dalton, LSPR Course Director

John Dalton BSc, CBiol, FITOL - Director of LSPR Worldwide and Principal Trainer

John Dalton graduated with a degree in Biochemistry from London University in 1987. He is currently Director of LSPR UK and LSPR Worldwide and is a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies. John has a particular interest in PR relating to biological issues and was in the early 1990s the Managing Editor for one of the world’s leading medical journals. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows globally and has interviews published in over 30 different media and economic journals. In 2000 a US Satellite channel produced a show with John as central guest to discuss PR within a business context. John left publishing to take control of the London School of Publishing and developed the LSPR media schools, which include the London School of Public Relations (LSPR).

John established LSPR and he has remained the Director and author of much of its content, which he up-dates every few weeks. A specialist in branding and Reputation Management, John was one of the first people to include intellectual capital and the management of intangibles and reputation manageement in a PR course globally.

Since 1997, John has travelled to numerous countries to deliver training in PR and branding and currently lectures to professionals in India, Russia, Syria, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and the US. In 2001, John addressed the first meeting of the Public Relations Consultants Association of India.

John continues to carry out some private consultancy and has rebranded oil companies, taught emotional branding to Coca Cola Russia, helped reposition music labels and advised numerous oil and gas specialists on corporate identity and issues management. John is one of the principal contributors to an annual conference arranged by LSPR Slovenia that invites experts to discuss trends from all over the globe. Back in 1997 John developed his own Consilience Model for understanding PR as part of integrated marketing communications and is now actively involved in promoting integrated marketing communications. In 2002 he was commissioned to write a report on Corporate Reputation, which he co-authored with Susan Croft and published in 2003. John is a key speaker in a number of global conferences and seminars. John has been awarded a Fellowship from the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL).

Dalal Nageh, LSPR Course Co-ordinatorDalal Nageh, BSc, FITOL - Course Director and senior Trainer

Dalal is Course Director for LSPR and has been working with LSPR for a number of years. Under Dalal’s leadership and management, the UK School has grown considerably. She has also been instrumental in developing LSPR's international expansion and client base.  Dalal also trains for LSPR on some of the modules, such Corporate Identity and Branding, Sponsorship and Event Management. She delivers the training regularly both in the UK and globally.

She is also responsible for LSPRs e-commerce activities and is a director of two other organisations associated with the LSPR media Group. Dalal is always available to discuss course delegates progress and sometimes leads seminar discussions organised by the School. Dalal works closely with John Dalton on the progress of course delegates and syllabus development; ensuring that the content of the course is up-to-date, dynamic and relevant. 

Dalal has been awarded a Fellowship from the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL).


Tihana Borovcak, BA - Course Co-ordinator and Regional Franchise Manager

 

Tihana's background has been in client based PR and media. She was also Director of her own agency - Calamus Media, based in Croatia, where she was responsible for dealing with sponsorship (mainly focusing on sports sponsorship) and event management. Her main areas of expertise was in negotiations with international partners in order to promote their brands. She was also responsible for creating strategies and marketing plans for clients that included PUMA, Diesel, Red Bull and Pollini. Before joining LSPR, Tihana was head of communications and marketing at the Institute of Innovation (based within Imperial university).

Tihana is fluent in a number of European languages and this helps in her dealings on behalf of LSPR with our various international franchisees and clients. Tihana's role with LSPR is as the Course Co-ordinator, by overseeing and managing of the various training courses offered by LSPR. She works closely with course delegates in terms of helping with feedback on their progress, reports and assessments. She is also in charge of overseeing the LSPR franchise operations in the Adriatic nations and works closely in assisting John Dalton and Dalal Nageh, as well as overseeing the administrative staff.

 

 

Susan Croft, LSPR teacherSusan Croft, BA, APR, FRSA - Corporate Trainer for Hill and Knowlton. Senior Tutor

Susan Croft is an international public speaker, corporate trainer and author. Until recently, she was senior consultant with Hill and Knowlton, where she worked for 14 years. Prior to this Susan ran her own Los Angeles-based PR agency.

As an international trainer Susan teaches at a number of leading Universities in the USA , including San Jose State , Georgetown , USF (Tampa). She is also Trainer for the PR Academy, an initiative of the Government of Singapore’s Ministry for Information, Technology and the Arts.

Susan has worked for a variety of clients in education, non-profit technology, business-to-business, and economic development. Organisations that she has represented include EDS, 3Com, The London Business School, Cambridge University and The Mentor Foundation.

She is an accredited Member of the Public Relations Society of America, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She is a graduate of University College London and holds a diploma in journalism from the UK’s National Council for Training of Journalists.

Still a member of Hill and Knowlton’s training faculty, which runs frequent workshops for all levels of staff, and a certified trainer with Lloyd’s of London, Susan is also a former Chairman of the London Fair Play Consortium.

Susan is also a founder of the London Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business and a past chairman of the CAM Foundation. Her book, How to Win New Business, was recently published and she has co-authored a new Report on Corporate Reputation. Susan now runs the US operations for LSPR, but is a frequent visitor to London , where she lectures for LSPR amongst others.

Julian Mears, LSPR Consultant tutorJulian Mears - Director of Corporate and Public Affairs - Britvic Europe. Consultant tutor.

Formerly a Consultant Media Strategist working on behalf of the government departments and their executive agencies. Julian has also been a Senior Account Director for HSBC Bank and an Account Manager for BMB Group (integrated consultancy), looking after major clients such as, SAAB, Orange and Vauxhall.

Julian started lecturing at LSPR in August 2001 and speaks on a variety of topics, in particular Media Relations, Crisis and Issues Management, account Management and Plans and Proposals. His professional interests extend to lecturing for corporate clients and business summits, along with contributing to academic reports and business publications.


Jerome Monahan, LSPR TutorJerome Monahan MA - Journalist and Freelance Writer. Tutor – Media Relations

Jerome Monahan regularly contributes to the Guardian, the Times Educational Supplement and other national newspapers. He writes copy for numerous clients drawn from the public, private and voluntary sectors. His clients include The Foreign and Commonwealth Office; WWF; the Commission for Health Improvement (CHI); the British Lung Foundation; Contact a Family and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. He has had experience of in-house public relations and press liaison at both city institutions and charities. He has tutored media relations at LSPR for the last five years.


Ross Benthell, LSPR tutorRoss Bethell, Associate Director, Aquila Financial Public Relations - Consultant and Senior Tutor

Originally from Calgary, Canada, Ross has over ten years of experience in public relations within both agency and in-house environments, and in 2006 completed an MSc in Corporate Communications. He has worked with a variety of blue-chip clients across automotive, energy, property and technology sectors including American Express, Cisco Systems, DaimlerChrysler, EDS, LogicaCMG, Lufthansa, Royal Bank of Scotland and Yahoo! UK & Ireland.

As Associate Director of Aquila Financial PR in London, Ross specialises in the energy and resources sector working with private and listed companies around the world with a particular focus on reputation management and business-to-business PR.

Ross has been lecturing with LSPR since 2005 in London, Bosnia, Croatia and Bulgaria on a variety of topics including reputation management, crisis communications, strategy and planning, financial communications, integrated marketing communications and PR measurement and evaluation. He also regularly presents introductory PR classes in London.

 


Marianne GrayMarianne Gray - Feature Writing Tutor: Freelance Journalist

Marianne Gray is a freelance journalist based in London writing interviews and features for British and international publications, such as Eve, the Times and the Evening standard. She trained as a reporter on newspapers in South Africa, has edited The Athens News, worked in syndication for magazine group Media 24, broadcast on both radio and television and written several books including biographies on French actors Gerard Depardieu and Jeanne Moreau (published by Little Brown) and self-employment handbooks Working from Home and The Freelance Alternative (Piatkus).

 

Marianne has taught Journalism at City University, London, and at visiting summer schools of American universities in Europe. She is vice-chairman of the Film Section of the British Critics¹ Circle, a member of Fipresci and London correspondent for the Arts Review Section of The Weekender.

 

She has written in the UK for publications as diverse as magazines Arena to Saga, Radio Times to New Woman, various inflight magazines and colour supplements. She has also written for a variety of UK newspapers from The Sunday Times and The Guardian to the Evening Standard and TheLondonPaper.

Current Position

Jindřich is co-managing GCI Hill & Knowlton Prague office. He develops Corporate Communication Strategies, provides senior level consultancy support and coordinates individual PR projects of Corporate Consultancy and Healthcare teams. Named the Chairman of Hill and Knowlton in 2007.


Prior History

He has 35 years of experience in Public Relations. He began his career in 1973 in a PR division of RAPID, Czech advertising agency. He used to work as media secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Industry. He worked with Prague office of Burson-Marsteller in 1991-92 and in 1992, he founded PRAGMA Communications, one of the first PR agencies in the market. In 2000-2002 he was an independent consultant in the area of PR strategy and tactics. He joined GCI Praha
